LOCAL 201 - Connecting People in the Local Food Movement
9:30 AM to 1:00 PM $40
During this morning session various people involved in the broader food movement will be making short presentations. It will include people involved in urban gardening, beekeeping, food policy, etc. After that there will be a couple panel discussions and then a lunch by Forage will be served. If you attended last year or are interested in finding out about all the great work that is being done in Calgary, you’ll want to attend 201. Space is limited for LOCAL 201. LOCAL 101 - Eating Food You Know, From People You Know

This is an afternoon of presentations on local food and agriculture featuring local farmers and cooks
and it is an event for everyone who eats! We’ll have some new speakers this year along with Kris Vester to wrap things up. Kris’s speech from last year was published in Alberta Views’ local food issue. Other speakers include Tony Marshall of Highwood Crossing, Sheila Hamilton of Sunworks Farm, Elna Edgar or Edgar Farms, Tim Hoven of Hoven Farms, dee Hobsbawn-Smith, and Wade Sirois of Forage and Infuse Catering. After the talks, there is a mix and mingle where you’ll get to sample many local foods. A cash bar will feature local mead, fruit wines, and beer.
