Hello All,

Welcome to Indian Summer. I discovered that technically, Indian Summer begins with the first killer frost, and if you were like me, you were scraping it off the windshield this morning. There is no definitive origin for the term, but is has been used as far back as the late 1700s. For us it means the leaves change color, the markets are at their peak and the last of the harvests have begun. It really is a celebration of all the hard work our farmers do to bring us such amazing things.

Here are the specials for this week:

Monday - Chicken Pot Pie
Organic Sunworks Farm chicken with potatoes, carrots, and green beans in a white sauce with puff dough top
Tuesday - Bison Stew
Buffalo Horn Ranch bison stew simmered with potatoes, root vegetables, and wheat berries served with a buttermilk biscuit
Wednesday - Stuffed Bell Peppers
Gull Valley Green House pepper with tomato rice, black beans and vegetables served with green salad
Thursday - Turkey Sausage And Perogies
Sunworks Farm organic sausage seasoned with white pepper and coriander served with our own cheddar perogies
Friday - Italian Meatloaf
Hoven Farms beef and Broek Pork Acres Berkshire pork meatloaf with a spicy tomato glaze served with green salad
